D-Star Racewear was set up in early 2010 by Chris Johnson. Chris has a racing background way back to when he first started aged just 6. He went on to race full time and was racing at Premier League level until a life threatening crash in October 2007. 

Although returning to the track in 2009 after finally receiving the all clear from the doctors it soon became clear that the lack of movement in his left leg was always going to be a problem. This is when he started thinking what he could do within the sport as its the one thing he knows more than anything else. His father Richard runs a successful Engineering business called RRE which is now selling into the speedway market and Chris has been working with him to raise the profile and get more riders using the RRE brand. 

This is when the idea of making race suits came about. Chris has been working doing website and graphic design for the last few years and knows how to work the software needed to create the logos and designs. The only drawback was the sewing. However after speaking to a family friend who's been working as an industrial sewer for over 30 years she offered to train Chris and show him the best practices for sewing. 

This led to Chris purchasing all the equipment needed for Dye Sublimation race suits and the company name appeared out of nowhere. This however led to a distinctive logo and the first suit was then made for Chris to race in at a Grasstrack meeting. After many small adjustments to techniques and design patterns the company started selling D-Star race products. 

D-Star Racewear after its first few months in business became one of the most talked about brands in Speedway and Grasstrack race wear. Looking to combine eye catching designs and quality materials to provide custom built suits which look exactly how you want and perform well on track. 

Our Mission is to unleash that dream suit, that pencil sketch, that perfect idea out into the world and make it reality. We aim to provide you with a suit exactly as you want it. We strive to keep trying new things design wise and materials and bring Speedway racewear inline with fashionable Motocross outfits. A race suit tells a lot about a persons character, so why not show yours through your suit!
